Performance: Guitar

Showing a talent for the guitar early on, Alec picked up his mother’s left-handed guitar at age 9 and played it by ear…upside down! Playing at an advanced intermediate level, Alec has taken private instruction for a nearly five years with Wayne Lazar (who called him “one of the most naturally gifted students I’ve ever had”) and, most recently, Bill Decker.

As one of the Co-Directors of the Spring 2014 Evening of the Arts at Sonoma Academy, Alec played guitar on Leonard Cohen’s “Hey, That’s No Way to Say Good-Bye”:
